Square Dancing With Arrowhead Squares

Arrowhead Squares, Toronto, was established in 1967 as a square dancing club. The club encourages square dancing as a way to build both fitness and friendship. To achieve this goal, they host both lessons at various skill levels, as well as monthly dances.
Square dancing is a perfect exercise combining both a physical and mental challenge in reacting to the Caller. The Caller directs the steps of the group in standardized movements. This means that the dancers don’t have to decide who will lead, so everyone can enjoy the fun equally. Square dancing is a very social activity, creating an environment in which all dancers interact with the entire group.
Aaron Goodman started modern western square dancing in 1983 with Arrowhead Squares of Mississauga. He started calling in 1983 and became the club caller in 1985. He has hosted days at Canada’s Wonderland, the CNE, and the Jerry Lewis Telethon. Aaron has been calling for 36 years and is a member of, and past president of Toronto and District Square and Round Dance Association.
